It’s been a while since I updated this, but it still works pretty well! Plans for this plugin are uncertain. The “in” thing right now isn’t jQuery, but I do still love it.

Anyways, plans for this are to refactor everything. Move the CSS to SCSS. Move the JS to something build-worthy. Add the ability to add an array of locations. All will coming with a major update.

The Simple Map jQuery plugin is meant to be easy, fast, and sustainable. Currently, it is a bare bones release, with just the essentials to get you started.

Plans for the plugin are as follows:

• Include ability to bypass geocoding and provide coordinates directly
• More overlay options (requires CSS)
• SCSS source for siimpler overlay styling and theming
• Multiple locations (coordinate mode only)
• General code improvement.
• General naming improvement.

jQuery Simple Map is a plugin created out of necessity. Almost all the Google Map jQuery plugins are really rich, and are packed with a lot of features. They are great tools with lots of options. However, they lack simplicity.

This plugin is meant to solve that problem. SGM provides just the essential features, and makes it extremely quick to geocode an address and render a Google Map.
